CCC Week 11

Week 11 lesson in A Compendium of Curiosities Challenge over at Studio L3 is "Blended Batik", which can be found on page 36.  Hop on over and take a look at all awesome ART others have been creating.

I created 2 ATCs  using the technique.   The image on the first ATC is from AlteredPages.com "mini images".

This is the 2nd version of the 2nd ATC.   On the original version (that will never be seen),  I stamped the sentiment directly onto the ATC.  It was hard to read as it was so faint.  So in addition to the technique for the week's lesson, I stamped the sentiment on tissue paper, then applied it with Claudine Hellmuth's Studio Multi Medium.   As you can see, the tissue paper all but disappeared, but the sentiment stayed "on top".

Hope the rest of your week is fabulous!

Linda

  1. Still working on ATC's too, huh? lol! I counted the other day, and I'm only up to like, 25. pathetic. These are really great, love the background on both, and tissue paper stamping is really great, isn't it? One of those under used techniques that gives a great effect.

  4. Linda, these are both so gorgeous! I really love the idea of stamping onto tissue paper-- it worked perfectly, and is an idea I'm going to steal for a project this weekend! So, thank you!

Your blended batik is brilliant, by the way-- and as usual, you've created absolutely wonderful art.

  5. Very pretty! Its getting harder and harder to pick the best ATC - too many wonderful designs. I like that tissue paper technique too, everything just blends right in.
